First-class event

Dear editor:
I would like to thank, and congratulate, the staff at Heron Landing Golf Course for an excellent experience in last weekend’s first-annual Men’s Open there.
It was a first-class event from start to finish on a beautiful championship course. Everything about the weekend was fantastic, with the exception of my performance, that is.
The course was in excellent condition, the tournament was very well-organized by club pro Brian Johnstone, and the meal was one of the best I have ever seen at a golf tournament.
The only black mark on the weekend would be the lack of attendance, as for whatever reason, many of the local golfers decided not to enter the tournament. Perhaps they did not feel up to the challenge of a new course, but they missed out.
After all, is that not what every golfer should be looking for—a challenge?
Thanks again and congratulations on an excellent event. From the start, every golfer was treated like a pro. Sign me up for next year.
(Signed),
John Payne
