Dear sir:
Cancel the spring bear hunt? Big deal–it doesn’t affect me!
That was my thought at first as I am not a hunter and own no guns. But I am in retail sales, and I had two truck deals go on hold and possibly cancelled–all because my customers were counting on income from supplying spring bear hunts.
So it does affect me–right in the wallet, big time!
If you are in any kind of retail sales, be it trucks or groceries, this decision affects you financially.
I have no idea how many people supply those spring bear hunts who spend the money they earn in our area but a low guess is probably 25-50. Our economy is probably losing over a million bucks in cash flow!
I urge everyone to spend the time and the buck to place a call or letter to whomever in government should know your feelings on this, starting with Natural Resources minister John Snobelen at Room 6630, Whitney Block, Toronto, Ont., M7A 1W3, or by calling 1-416-314-2301 or faxing 1-416-314-2216.

P.S. How much money do you think the people in southern Ontario, who pushed the idea of cancelling the spring bear hunt, will spend in our local area? Probably zero.
