Fantastic support

Dear editor:
On Sunday, Sept. 14, the people of Fort Frances and surrounding areas once again gathered together in support of the Terry Fox Run.
More than 100 people came out to participate or volunteer for this year’s 23rd-annual run. The weather was perfect, and it was heartening to see this community continue to support the Terry Fox Run in a big way.
We are proud to announce more than $9,500 has been pledged and donated for the run. This brings our community’s fundraising efforts to over a whopping $93,000 for the last 10 years we have been hosting the run.
The organizing committee would like to thank all those businesses that donated food, water, supplies, and draw prizes to help make our run a success. We especially would like to thank all our volunteers who helped set up, man stations, cook, and clean up.
Those who gathered pledges, completed the route, and ensured our community would make a difference in the battle against cancer should be very proud. A great big thank you to you, as well.
We look forward to seeing you all again next year!
With warmest regards,
Vanessa Hebert
