Dear editor:
Fort Frances High School was full of developing volleyball players at the Bantam level (Grades 7 and 8) on Saturday, Nov. 29, who were playing the last tournament of the season (a.k.a. the regionals).
It was wonderful to see how these students have progressed over the season in skill development, team spirit, and sportsmanship.
I would like to take this time to recognize all the organizers of several elementary volleyball tournaments this season. As a former teacher and coach, I know the extra effort it takes to host a tournament while teaching full-time.
Thanks goes out to Trevor Hands and Robert Kinsmen (Crossroads), Mike Jones and Sonja Bodnarchuk from Robert Moore (Struchan Gilson Memorial), Jody Bonner-Vickers from J.W. Walker (Nelson Rogoza Memorial), and Kyle Thomson and Jeff Ogden from J.W. Walker for organizing 20 teams for the regionals!
I am wishing everyone a restful Christmas holiday because basketball season is right around the corner!
