Dear editor:
As Ukrainian music blared out amongst the hallways at Rainycrest on Jan. 7, a few people even got up and tried their hand at Ukrainian dancing.
If you were anywhere near Rainycrest that Friday afternoon, these are some of the sights you may have seen and sounds you may have heard as Rainycrest held its annual Ukrainian Christmas party.
As a participant in and resident here at Rainycrest, I must commend the Activation staff for the tremendous amount of effort they must have put into organizing this event for us.
Thank you to all of you.
Linda Richardson and Sandy Selin, dressed in full Ukrainian attire, danced among the crowd of people here, handing them a refreshment and some light snacks. As the day progressed, we were all absorbed by the delightful Ukrainian carols that were sung to us by the Fort Frances Ukrainian Choir.
The grand finale for the afternoon was a small taste of a traditional Ukrainian staple (you guessed it—perogies). Everyone here was served two or three perogies to sample.
Once again, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Activation staff here at Rainycrest for the excellent job they did in organizing this event.
