Eleonore Scheirer

Eleonore Scheirer, 87, of Rainycrest Home for the Aged, 550 Osborne St., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away at her residence on Tuesday, July 14, 1998.
She was born on Jan. 17, 1911 in Austria to the late Wilhelm and Katherine Kitsch.
In 1927 at the age of 16, Eleonore moved to Canada and settled in Fort Frances, Ont. where she has lived all of her life. On Feb. 22, 1930, she was united in marriage to Frederich Scheirer. Eleonore was a charter member of the Church of the Lutheran Hour. Eleonore was a devoted mother and grandmother, and her home was considered most important to her.
She was predeceased by her husband Frederich on Nov. 17, 1988; three sisters, Mary, Dorothy and Lina; and by two brothers, William and Henry Kitsch.
Eleonore is survived by two sons, Arthur Scheirer, and wife Margaret of Fort Frances, Ont., Lloyd Scheirer of Muskoka, Ont.; one daughter, Florence May and husband Ronald Steer of Kitchener, Ont.; seven grandchildren, Kathy and husband Donald Turple of Winnipeg, Man, Brent of Vancouver, B.C., Ranae of Fort Frances, Ont., Marc of Winnipeg, Mn., Kurtis of Toronto, Ont., Lisa and husband Craig Metetich if Cambridge, Ont., and Michael and wife Karen of Kitchener, Ont.; four great-grandchildren, Cody, Carly, Samantha and Cole; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 17, 1998 at 10 a.m. at the Church of The Lutheran Hour in Fort Frances, Ont. Pastor Dave Gallas will officiate with interment in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances, Ont.
Friends may visit Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances.
Pallbearers will be Ed Kaun, Larry Lamb, Kurtis Scheirer, Ed Sletmoen, Calvin Spicer and Michael Steer.
