Disgusting

Dear editor:
Well, I’ve given up on the short walks along the waterfront in fear of stepping into some dog doo-doo.
Now what am I supposed to do?
I’ve also quit cutting my grass in the front yard and boulevard so I won’t get into it there. And the back lane, well that’s another story.
How anyone can stand and wait for their dog to do its business on someone’s yard is beyond me. Or do they just walk half-a-block away pretending that it’s not their pet.
Then there’s the Huffman School yard, along with the East End community ground where the dogs run free. Do they not realize that is a playground for children and not a place for dogs to poop.
Yes, I have confronted the odd person—only to have them say they pick up after their dogs. That’s a bit of a joke when you can see they are carrying nothing to put it in.
I will admit, yes, that one out of maybe 10 do pick up after them.
In closing, a big thanks to the caretaker at Huffman School, who is out there early every morning picking up in the playground and I don’t think he should have to?
Signed,
John Richards
