I would like to express my concern and disappointment over the recent vote by Fort Frances town council to withdraw their support for the construction of a new library.
Although I can only imagine the financial challenges council faces in their attempt to be fiscally responsible to their citizens today, they are showing a degree of irresponsibility to the citizens of tomorrow that only the future can judge.
As one of many who has donated funds for the new library, I am also concerned about the ultimate destination of those many thousands of dedicated dollars. Any use other than for the construction of a new library would be totally unacceptable.
If the town council sticks to their present decision, then it would seem only proper that all donated funds be returned to the donors.
