Dear sir:
I am writing in regards to the disgusting and dangerous condition of the downtown parking spaces on Scott Street.
I recently had the horrendous task of trying to navigate over the snow banks that are between the road and sidewalk, with my 18-month-old daughter in my arms.
Luckily, she or I was not harmed, but how long is it going to take before someone is seriously injured? Would it be too much to ask the town to take the snow banks away on a timely basis?
Even the handicap parking is this way! How is someone in a wheelchair supposed to navigate the snow banks when an able-bodied person can’t even manage?
All of this money is spent on the riverfront, which is used seasonally? Don’t get me wrong, but where’s the priority?
And the downtown businesses wonder why everyone is at Wal-Mart? Maybe because the parking lot is clear and easy to navigate? I am almost certain I am not the only one wondering what is happening to this town?
Sincerely,
Melanie Heyens
Devlin, Ont.
