Dear editor:
I am writing as a citizen of Fort Frances who is concerned with there not being an extension to the bike trail in the west end of town, especially in regards to Wal-Mart being on the highway.
It seems to me that if the town was so anxious for new businesses in town, then shouldn’t they also be concerned with the safety of those who don’t get to Wal-Mart in their own car or by taxi.
I am pleased to see the improvements along the riverfront, but now that Wal-Mart has opened, shouldn’t there be another bike trail or more sidewalk beyond Canadian Tire?
I would love to see this brought up at the next town council meeting because this is something I believe needs to be addressed as soon as possible.
Thank you. And I hope more citizens in town will agree to put their views forward on this subject before a child gets hit by a car trying to bike or walk to Wal-Mart in the near future.
