Cross-section needed

Dear Mr. Editor:
I would hope the taxpayers of Fort Frances, in this municipal election, would vote for a cross-section of candidates that can share the views of all segments of our community.
I do not wish to criticize the present council, but it seems to me they did not have the community’s interests at heart when dealing with most issues.
The Family Health Team approach to health care, and the severing of the power dam to name just two issues, will have a most negative impact on Fort Frances if not handled correctly.
The possibility of privatization in health care and the potential loss of our mill employment base are scenarios we do not want to experience or see.
I wish all the new candidates well and encourage you, if elected, to be open and honest with the public, refrain from hiding documents, and cutting backroom deals.
After all, once you are elected, your oath of office enshrines the pledge you make to those you were elected to represent.
Thank you.
Yours truly,
Rudy Gustafson
