Dear sir:
I wish to protest the caricature in last week’s Times.
So, if you know it or not, you are fulfilling some of the words of Christ. He told his followers that they will be vilified—even persecuted or put to death.
Much as it were the scribes and teachers of old who persecuted Him and arranged to have Him murdered, and accused Him of being no friend of Caesar’s. Even the judge of the day called Him innocent.
So the scribes of today use ridicule and falsehood to vilify his followers.
As the leaders of old did not heed the words of the prophets, so the leaders of today feel free to ignore the words of Scripture—the inspired word of God.
The end result can only be disaster.
Signed,
Michael Zimmerman
