Dear editor:
Your newspaper’s coverage of the ongoing dilemma of having a dialysis unit in Fort Frances prompts me to comment.
The cost of such a machine versus the benefit of a few who might use it doesn’t add up. Spending thousands of dollars to accommodate a few seems a bit extravagant.
I am certain that this money could be better spent. Heard about the nursing shortage?
Perhaps the trip to the nearest dialysis machine could be assisted through the government health system. It seems the silent majority either doesn’t speak up or just keeps passing the buck.
The squeaky wheel that wants an expensive toy needs a lesson in frugality!
I am tired of bleeding hearts always looking for handouts.
Sincerely,
John Bekeris
Portage La Prairie, Man.
