Cora Campbell, 66, of #9 Evergreen Cres., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Thursday, Dec. 24, 1998 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances.
Cora was born May 1, 1932 in Tyler, Mn. to the late Harry and Mary Dresden. On July 24, 1958, she was united in marriage to Gordon Campbell Sr. Following their marriage, they moved to Fort Frances, where she resided most of her life.
Cora was an avid bingo player, enjoyed flowers, and loved her family very much. Her door was always open to everybody, and the coffee always on.
She was predeceased by one sister, Leona Haug; and by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Christine and Walter Henry Campbell.
Cora is survived by her husband, Gordon Campbell Sr. of Fort Frances, Ont.; three sons, Danny Ellis of Thunder Bay, Ont., Gordon Campbell Jr. and wife, Cindy, of Fort Frances, Ont., and Darren Campbell and wife, Kathy, of Thunder Bay, Ont.; two daughters, Christie and husband, Ralph Soderholm, and Connie and husband, Norman Wood, all of Fort Frances, Ont.; 13 grandchildren, Billie-Joe Sousa, Onalee Campbell, Brendan Campbell, Jenefer Cousineau, Tyler Cousineau, Aimey Cousineau, Sherry Wood, Marilyn Wood, Norman Wood Jr., Wendy Wood, Dawn Wood, Kyla Ellis, and Danny Ellis Jr.; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty and husband, Bruno, of Lake Kabetogama, Mn.; three nieces, Delores, Mary, and Carol; and three nephews, Jeff, Billy, and Bobby.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1998 at 10 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Eric and Sylvia Alcock (envoys) officiated, with interment in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
Visitation was held Monday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at Green Funeral Home.
Honourary pallbearers were Brian Byma, Todd Soderholm, Bobby Odgen, Tyler Cousineau, Elvis Conway, and Allan Bedard.
