Caring community

Dear editor:
The holiday season is upon us, and it feels like there is no end to the “to-do” lists to complete. The hustle and bustle makes it difficult for me to look around (mostly because my hat and scarf are so tight, it has limited my field of vision).
But as I do, it gives me great pride to see the multitude of courageous and giving people voluntarily braving the cold to help our community; flipping pancakes, ringing bells, collecting can goods, and doing so much more.
I commend you and thank you for your successful efforts aiding this caring community.
As the chair of the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship, and on behalf of the entire board of directors, I thank all my fellow volunteers and all the tournament sponsors for their continued dedication year-round to make Rainy River District a wonderful place to live.
I will be celebrating my marriage on New Year’s Eve but before this happy union, my husband to be and I wish love, health, and happiness to you, your families, and your friends.
This is a wonderful holiday season.
Respectfully submitted,
Rebecca Spencer
