Bring back CBC Radio

Dear Editor,
We, the people whose job it is to bring you news, current affairs programming and the music from artists across the Northwest, deplore the fact that regional radio service has been brought to a halt.
From White River to Big Trout Lake, and Hornepayne to Rainy River, listeners are telling us they are disappointed with the alternative programming being provided out of Toronto, and that they are worried what the future holds in store.
This regrettable situation is NOT the result of a strike. CBC management has locked out its employees across the country. CBC wants to hire most new employees on temporary contracts.
The Canadian Media Guild members at CBC Thunder Bay, are anxious to reach a settlement that will ensure that quality regional service for northwestern Ontario will continue for years to come.
Listeners can help by contacting their local Member of Parliament. Or the CBC (CBC President Robert Rabinovitch: robert_rabinovitch@cbc.ca/ CBC Audience Relations: 1-866-306-4636).
Sincerely,
Gerald Graham,
President, Canadian Media Guild
