Bravo!

Dear sir:
My wife and I had the opportunity to attend the La Vallee centennial that was held a few weeks ago. Hats off to all the people who worked so hard to put on a great party and who also ran it so efficiently.
We were both amazed at the way the whole centennial celebration just flowed together, and that there was something for everyone to see and attend at their own discretion.
Being from Kitchener, Ont., we tried to take in as much as we could. I have a lot of history in my family, from La Vallee and later Fort Frances. A lot of this history was at the centennial in one form or another.
From the great displays of old records and articles to the wonderful parade that was staged, it was a complete success.
I also found many relatives that I did not know that I had, as well as some folks who wanted to speak to me about my father, Dean Anderson, who was their teacher at the old Burriss school. It was very enjoyable.
Since returning to Kitchener, I have been able to put all this into perspective and in my own mind live a few days the old way as they did in the old days of La Vallee and vicinity.
It must have been fun making up your own games, and getting together for picnics and other celebrations in the different parks around this area. The night life had to be as much fun back then as it is today.
It think it would do our young children and teenagers a world of good to just live one night the way they did at the turn of the century, when they made and enjoyed their own entertainment.
In closing, I would like to thank all the people involved in making this centennial celebration such a success, as well as thank the contact people I had help from during the planning stages of this great event.
They kept me up to date right from the start. Special thanks to Liz Donaldson, Beth Caldwell, and Pam Hawley. It was very much appreciated Bravo!
