I wrote the following letter to Doug McRory, provincial apiarist with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs in Guelph:
For more than 20 years, I have been proud to serve as a bee inspector under the Food Inspection Branch of the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food. I have enjoyed the work and our association.
I have decided, however, that I cannot be part of an organization that has treated agricultural producers and their support businesses with the contempt and dishonour displayed recently regarding Sunrise Meat and Sausage in Barwick, Ont.
I will therefore, regrettably, not be renewing my contract in the spring.
