Dear sir:
I am writing this letter to the rude, downright ignorant, usually local people who take their frustrations out on flag people between Crozier and Devlin.
Can you possibly understand that they are only doing their jobs, and have no control over our busy highway. Or how hard it is to stand in one position for 12 continuous hours in the extreme heat or rain, and then to have to listen to ungrateful people who think they are holding you up on purpose.
The flag people are there for your safety–and the safety of their fellow crew members. Not to be yelled at or shot the one-finger wave.
It is summer time and that is the only time in which road construction can take place,” in the north. And I’m sure these rude people are the same ones who would complain if our roads weren’t fixed.
So next time you are delayed, instead of complaining to the flag people, why not bring them a drink and wave more than one finger when you pass. And for the locals who just cannot stand this any more, you know full well that there is an alternate route.
Signed,
Lisa Shields,
Crozier resident who commutes daily
and grateful for nice roads.
