Dear sir:
We wish to take this opportunity to thank the Fort Frances Times for all the positive coverage of the “Youth-at-Risk” program.
We have enjoyed working with the students, both in the classroom component and the training placements. The abilities and commitment of the students to learn and develop important employment skills clearly demonstrated their motivation and interest to fine-tune their skills.
The “Youth-at-Risk” program identified how the youth of Rainy River District are at risk for limited training and employment opportunities in a rural and isolated region. The opportunity to gain access to future employment through successful training placements in their home community with local employers provided encouragement to students to enter the job market.
Local employers met the challenge to provide work placements that allowed students to explore their work preferences and further develop the skills required by employers.
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the employers on behalf of the students and the Fort Frances and District Association for Community Living for their time and support of this initiative.
Without the employers’ willingness to participate, programs such as these would not be possible and successful. Thank you again.
Respectfully submitted,
Allene Perusse and
Rosanne Zimmerman,
Co-ordinators
