Dear editor:
Of all the letters submitted to the editor by Bill Krukoski and Allan Bedard, all the petitions and meetings they have attended, plus sharing their concerns many times to council, it seems to me they are getting nowhere fast.
Before I continue with this letter, I should like to say I am in full support of these two gentlemen 120 percent with their endeavours and concerns.
Sometime during this past winter, I contacted a few people regarding their views on assisted living. Everyone was for it, but that is as far as it went.
Why can we not have assisted living in Fort Frances? Taxpayers need to know there are a lot of people who need assistance in Fort Frances. The only place for them to go is Rainycrest—and they are not a candidate for a rest home.
It is a shame that the powers that be do not see this.
I believe Fort Frances has a good percentage of seniors who pay taxes. Is this not right? Would be nice to know just how many.
All of a sudden, we are having a second condo built. I have a question. Who owns the property that the condo is being built on? Taxpayers? And how much will be property sell for? Where will that money go?
Will someone tell me why we are moving the tower and boat? How much will it cost?
The library issue is raising its head once again, and I thought this issue was solved. Do these people not know or understand that it was voted on and defeated!
Our taxes have been raised 1.1 percent. When is it ever going to stop?
The talking, discussing, and feeling that we, as taxpayers, have is we should do something drastic—like maybe hold off or not pay your city taxes. Would that not bring the news media to this little town in Northwestern Ontario?
By refusing to pay city taxes, we are asking to stand up and be counted.
An irate taxpayer,
Pat McPherson
Fort Frances, Ont.
