A joke?

Dear editor:
I heard that the water tower will be refurbished and that is great. However, what is not great—and what surprised me the most—was the town is considering selling space on that water tower for advertising!
You must be kidding me!
We are bombarded with advertising everywhere we turn. It keeps popping up on the television screen as we are trying to watch a show. It pops up when we are on the Internet, at the bank machine, everywhere we turn.
We certainly do not need to see a huge ad pasted to our water tower. Just leave it alone! Do a good job of refurbishing and repairing it, and leave it as is.
I do not think the town is that poor that it has to resort to these measures to meet its budgets.
