Dear editor,
Come on folks, “colonization” is a word!
What’s next? “Residential”, “school”, “chief”, “nun”?
When we were young, our parents taught us: “sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me.” A good adage for us all to live by.
All those who are zealously working to change a word would better use their energies to do all of us – caucasian and Indigenous – people (especially us women) a huge favour by assisting the Treaty 3 Police to find our missing Indigenous women.
Now that would be an admirable cause.
