Keeps getting Better

Ten years and still going strong.
After months of meticulous planning, the dedicated work of hundreds of volunteers, and the tireless support of the community, the 10th annual Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship has finally come to a close.
It was a week of “fun, friends, and fishing,” as one angler aptly announced on-stage, a succinct description of the week’s events.
But the smooth operation of an event of such magnitude does not happen overnight.
Year after year our town steps up to the plate to ensure the successful execution of every tiny detail.
And though Mother Nature’s slow arrival this year did mean lower basket weights, this did not dampen the enthusiasm of the anglers or the some 25,000 people who made their way through and around the big tent during the week.
In addition to the regular highlights that we have all come to look forward to—Quest for the Best, Lionel’s enthusiasm and Tyzen’s antics, to name but a few—the FFCBC committee, in honour of the tenth anniversary, added a few treats: more diverse nighttime entertainment, a new look for the stage, and the Labatt Blue Cube, a new staple of the FFCBC.
So a big thank you to all the directors, volunteers and unsung heroes behind the scenes who made this tournament the success it was—it wouldn’t have happened without you.
