Hey, Fort Frances, take a bow!

Our town hosted two major business conferences last week and, judging by the rave reviews from delegates, we did an absolutely bang-up job.
Those attending the annual general meeting of the Northwestern Ontario Associated Chambers of Commerce couldn’t say enough about what a great time they had in Fort Frances as they were heading for home around noon Sunday. If they weren’t praising the warm hospitality shown to them here, most were still talking about the excellent meals they enjoyed at La Place Rendez-Vous, the Red Dog Inn and Ukrainian Hall.
(The only drawback about having lunch at the latter spot on Saturday was that it was really hard to concentrate on the afternoon session when all everyone wanted to do was find the nearest couch for a little snooze).
NOACC delegates on the balcony of the hospitality suite at the Rendez-Vous, gazing over the calm waters of Rainy Lake bathed in the late September sunshine, with the brilliant fall colours serving as a magnificent backdrop, almost couldn’t believe the natural beauty of our area.
In fact, one person wants to come back with his family and rent a cabin for their vacation next year.
The “Northern Networks” trade conference, hosted by Fort Frances this year, also won accolades from the delegates for being equally well-organized and run. Already being dubbed the most successful one yet, the impression of our town and convention facilities by visitors ranked second only to the number of business contacts they made over those two days.
Fort Frances rolled out the red carpet for a lot of guests last week, and they all went home thinking, “Wow!” For organizers of both conferences, it was tremendously gratifying to know all their hard work had paid off.
As for everyone else, be proud to know our town took on the challenge of hosting these events–and came through with flying colours!
