It’s that time of the year, the Rainy River Valley Agricultural Society Fall Fair takes place this week in Emo, August 19, 20, and 21.
Although there isn’t a midway this year, there will be a large variety of events from agriculture, old fashioned games, vendors, the logging contest and the queen pageant as well as the mini king and queen pageant. Plus I’m sure many more things of interest. Be sure to check out the special fair edition of the Fort Frances Times for a complete schedule of events.
Perhaps the best thing about this year’s fair is being able to see people and do some socializing. As the fair motto states, “come as a stranger, leave as a friend!”
Congratulations are in order to Courtney Beadle and Kevin Metza who were wed on Saturday, August 14, at a beautiful wedding. The wedding took place in Thunder Bay with many family and friends from our area attending. Proud parents are Terry and Cheryl Beadle and Nancy Metza and grandma Sylvia Beadle.
Also wedding this weekend was Jennifer McDowall and Ryan Mosbeck. The couple were wed at a beautiful outdoor wedding.
Happy parents are Tim and Patti McDowall, Duff and Rochelle Mosbeck and grandpa Bill McDowall. Our community wishes both couples many years of joy and happiness.
Sincere sympathy to Wade and Marlene Nelson and all the Nelson family in the passing of Wade’s brother Mark.
