Shamrock Tea and Bake Sale this Friday

There will be a Shamrock Tea and Bake Sale this Friday, March March 15 at the Emo Hospital Cafeteria from 1:30-3:30 p.m. This fun-filled afternoon is sponsored by the Emo and District Hospital Auxiliaries. There will be baking and goodies. Admission is $5.00. All monies raised will help with hospital projects.

The Emo Legion Branch #99 is hosting its annual Good Friday Fish Fry. This takes place March 29. The meal will be served from 5-6:30 p.m. Takeouts are available from 4-4:45 p.m. The cost is $20 for adults and $10 for youth 10 and under. This meal is advance tickets only. The meal of walleye and all the trimmings always proves to be delicious. Tickets can be purchased at the Emo Legion Clubroom Wednesday to Saturday from 4-8 p.m. or Tompkins Hardware or Tompkins Outdoors. For more information call the Legion at 472-2250.

Last Fridays (March 8) Beer and Burger Burger saw Lauren Matheson and Susan Irvine win the meat draw. The meat served at Friday nights Beer and Burger was supplied by KB Ranch.

The next Bingo takes place March 19 at the Emo Legion. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the Early Bird game at 6:45 and the regular games start at 7 p.m. A canteen is available for patrons starting at 5:30 p.m. A Jean Steele Memorial game will be played at each Bingo Night, with a $100 payout for that game.

Sending a happy 60th anniversary to Mark and Carol Hyatt on March 14. The district wishes you many more anniversaries and blessings. A celebration of this happy event will be shared with family this coming summer.

Congratulations to Emily (Esselink) and Chris Campioni on the birth of their first child. Brooklyn Mia was born March 3. Happy grandparents Betty and Gary Esselink, Kelly Daehn (Gilles) and Denise and Murray Campioni and great grandma Linda Esselink.

There will be a Seniors Coffee Gathering at the Devlin Hall March 26 and April 9 from 1-3 p.m. These gathering will take place every second Tuesday and will stop for the summer and resume in September.

There will be a Seniors Pancake Breakfast on April 13 at the Devlin Hall from 9-11 p.m. This is also part of the newly founded Seniors events that will take place throughout the year. More information to follow on happenings to take place.

There will be Coffee with Friends at the Emo Legion on March 19 from 1-3 p.m. This is for seniors 55 plus.

Coffee, tea and baking are served at both Devlin and Emo Coffee events. This is open for people through the entire district. Hoping to see a lot of folks out to these gatherings.

The Emo Knox United Church extends a warm welcome to all churches to attend a Lenten Service  on March 20th. Service by Bishop Larry Robertson. A short service will take place at noon, followed by a soup and bun lunch.
