The Rainy River Valley Association Society is holding its meeting on Tuesday, January 27, at 7 p.m. The meeting takes place at the 4-H exhibition hall.
There are four positions to be filled. The next three projects to be completed on the fair grounds are the Borderland Racing concession, an addition to the small animal barn, and taking the hydro underground to get rid of hydro poles.
The Agricultural Fair is a huge part of our districts culture and memory making. Please consider attending the meeting and filling one of the four positions. New ideas and enthusiasm always makes for a topnotch committee.
The renovations to the Devlin Hall are proceeding as expected. Richard Wieringa Construction is the contractor taking on the renovations.
Devlin Reeve Lucille MacDonald shared, “To our knowledge, the contractor hasn’t encountered any major difficulties to date. Hopefully, work will continue to run smoothly as progression depends on co- ordination with sub-contractors and suppliers.” MacDonald also shared, “We are very excited to see the results and planning for grand opening!”
All Emo Legion events are cancelled for the week, including crib, seniors carpet bowling, Beer and Burger, and the volunteer appreciation supper. The cancellations are due to the extreme cold and only one furnace working.
The Emo Legion is hosting a corn-hole tournament on January 30. There are three positions available for teams to enter. Spectators are welcome. The canteen is open, selling burgers, fries, and poutine, the bar is also open. If more information is required call the Legion at 482-2250.
