Every year the Township of LaVallee nominates a local individual as “Senior of the Year.”
The Township is asking its residents to nominate someone they think should receive this award. The Senior of the Year has to be a resident of our Township, be 65 or older and someone who has made our community a better place to live through volunteering their time etc. Send nominations with a brief description as to why you chose this person and a bit about how they have made our community a better place. Nominations have to be received at the municipal office no later than Wednesday, March 31, 2021.
A happy belated birthday to Harold Kellar, Harold’s birthday was January 28 – the same day as his daughter Annie’s, who turned 54 this year.
Sympathy to Wade Nelson on the passing of his uncle Wayne George. Sympathy to all other family members and friends.
Wishing all the best to Jamie Everett and Sis McCormick (plus kiddies Layne and Bella) on the purchase of their new home. The family is still residing in Barwick but are enjoying a much bigger home.
Robin’s 2 cents
Husband: My wife is missing. She went shopping yesterday and hasn’t come home.
Officer: Age?
Husband: I’m not sure. Around 40. We don’t do birthdays.
Officer: Height?
Husband: I’m not sure, a little over five feet tall.
Officer: Weight?
Husband: Don’t know, not slim, not really fat.
Officer: Colour of eyes?
Husband: Sort of brown, I think.
Officer: Colour of hair?
Husband: Changes couple of times a year. Maybe dark brown. I can’t remember.
Officer: What was she wearing?
Husband: Could of been pants, or maybe a skirt or shorts. I don’t know exactly.
Officer: What kind of car did she go in?
Husband: She went on my motorcycle. A 2018 Harley Davidson Twisted Cherry with 14 inch apes, Stage 2 kit, Vance and Hines fishtail pipes, Klok Werks windshield, JP cycles, foot boards, highway peg and crash bars… At this point the husband started choking up.
Officer: Take it easy sir, we’ll find your motorcycle.
