The annual Township of LaVallee’s Christmas potluck takes place this Sunday (December 15 at the Devlin Hall. Doors open at 3p.m. and supper will be served at 5p.m. The Township of LaVallee will purchase the turkeys and hams. Bring your favourite salad, hot dish or dessert. There will be a kids corner and Santa will visit and he will be handing out treat bags.
Rural end of the district’s school Christmas concerts are as follows:
- Our Lady of the Way December 11 at 6 p.m. Festival of Lights in the outdoor classroom
- Donald Young School December 12 6-7:30 p.m.
- Sturgeon Creek December 12 at 7 p.m.
- Riverview December 18 at 6:30 p.m.
- Crossroads December 19 at 6:30 p.m. to be held at Rainy River High School.
The last day of school for all students in the district is December 20th.
Weechi-It-Te-Win Family Services will host its annual McTavish Winter Wonderland Trail of Lights on December 16 and 17 from 4:30-8:30 p.m. at 71 McTavish Road in LaVallee Township. Light food, hot chocolate, and treats will be served.
Free admission. Donations of non- perishable food items will be accepted and donated to the local food bank. Santa and The Grinch will be onsite for pictures. Please book your free time slot at WWW.WEECHI.CA/EVENTS.
The Emo Legion will hosts Beer and Burger this Friday night, December 13 from 5-7 p.m. A meat draw will be held during this event.

The next Seniors coffee gathering is January 6th from 1-3 p.m. All seniors 55+ are welcome to attend.
The Senior’s committee will be holding its first Bingo January 15 at 1 p.m. and a game day on January 28.
