The Rainy River Valley District Fall Fair directors hosted their annual appreciation supper on December 3. Approximately 90 people attended and enjoyed a delicious turkey dinner. The first fair ambassador Alexis Latter sang two Christmas songs to put all in the Christmas spirit. Mini King and Queen Ethan Pruys and Lilyana Berg also added to the festivities.

Fair board president Sherri Hay announced that the annual general meeting takes place January 27, at the exhibition hall. There are three director positions to be filled.

The next three projects to complete at the fair grounds are the Borderland Racing food concession, an addition to the small animal barn and taking the hydro underground to get rid of the hydro poles.

Emo Holly Daze, held Friday, December 5 and Saturday, December 6, was a huge success. The winners of the $250 Chamber of Commerce gift certificate draws were Nancy Rivest and James Meyer.

Many enjoyed the various vendors throughout the Emo area, the soup and sandwich lunch was sold out. Once again a great parade and fireworks. Hats off to all the businesses, volunteers and all those that help to make this a success and fun two days.

Charlene and Ron McTavish, organizers of Stuff A Cruiser, shared, “Thanks to all the volunteers that came out braving the cold. A successful day of collecting 1,838 pounds of food.”

All collected food and money donations go to the Emo Food Bank.
