Happy 60th birthday to Wayne Smith.

Sincere condolences and sympathy to the family and friends of Sharon Anderchuk. She grew up in Burriss and lived a full life there with her parents Ferne and Angus Hyatt and her siblings plus large family of cousins and Aunts and Uncles. She will be sadly missed by many.

Congratulations to Logan and Karly Jackson (nee Caul). The couple were wed at a beautiful wedding on Saturday, September 3. Proud parents are Chad and Sheila Jackson and Marvin and Sondra Caul. Great grandparents are Marvin and Carla Mose and Lorne and Diane Jackson, Ken and Laverne Dessere and Donnie Monroe. The district wishes you many years of happiness.

Dave and Tracy Mose had the pleasure and excitement of hosting a wedding at their home in Alberta. A beautiful outside wedding was held for Denise Richard (Robar) and Trevor Andrews. Denise is Tracy’s aunt. The wedding was a surprise to many family members back in that Rainy River District – Tracy shared that it was hard for her, Dave and the bride and groom to keep it a secret, but they did.

Congratulations to the couple and hats off to Dave and Tracy for their hospitality during this celebration.

The winner of the August gas draw at Devlin’s Corner Store was Bill McEvoy. Be sure you sign up for the draw every time you buy $40.00 in gas or more.

A wife is just the opposite of a fisherman: he brags about the ones that got away and complains about the one she caught.
