The Rainy River Valley Agricultural Society Fair Board held its executive meeting last week and all executive positions were filled. Sherry Hay has kept her position as fair president.
Tenders are out for the new 4-H building and fairground fencing, another year of major improvements.
Congratulations to Jason Flatt and Tina Uyan Pham on the birth of their first child. Leiland Frederick was born January 21st. Proud grandparents are Kelvin and Faye Flatt, Sinh Pham and Yen Vo.
A happy 75th birthday to Gayle Hyatt. Gayle turned 75 on January 27. A surprise birthday party was held for her on Thursday January 25 at the Emo Legion, with family and friends attending. A family supper was held Saturday (January 27) along with Gayle’s granddaughter Addison celebrating her 16th birthday.
The next Emo Legion bingo is February 20. (Apologies for last week’s mistake, stating next Bingo is March 19.) Doors open at 5:30 p.m., early bird game at 6:45 p.m. and regular games begin at 7 p.m.
New this season is a canteen is available to bingo patrons starting at 5:30 p.m. A Jean Steele Memorial Game will be played every bingo night. A $100.00 payout for the game winner.
Doris Dyson and Tracy McLean were the winners of last weeks meat draw, that took place at the Emo Legion’s Beer and Burger night. Sunrise Meats provided the meat for this draw.
A reminder that the deadline for the Nevin Bonot early bird draw is is February 29th. for the Emo Walleye Classic. Entry fee is $500.00
