Dance Hall renovations progressing well, but more funding needed

The Dance Hall renovations are coming along, the parking lot, sidewalks and landscaping is completed. Ken Hyatt (the carpenter taking on this project) shared with me that Bruce Brigham (electrician) will be continuing with wiring. It’s hoping the wiring and insulation will be done by Christmas, following that completion the walls will be sheeted in. There is still lots of work to do before the kitchen is completed. The revenue for this project is running low. Hyatt shared with me the cost of building is up 40 per cent over the last two years.

Joeann Hyatt shared with me the 50/50 tickets are selling, but hoping more sell before the Boxing Day draw. Four thousand tickets have been printed and sell for $10.00 each. Be sure to purchase one , they will be available at Holly Daze in Emo and are also available in rural business Norlunds, Tompkins, Devlin’s Corner Store, tickets will be sold in Emo during Holly Daze.

Robin’s 2 cents

A couple were Christmas shopping. The shopping centre was packed and as the wife walked around, she was surprised to discover that her husband was nowhere to be seen.

She was quite upset, because they had a lot to do and hence, she became so worried that she called him on her mobile phone to ask him where he was.

In a quiet voice he said: ”Do you remember the jewellers we went to about five years ago, where you fell in love with that diamond necklace that we couldn’t afford, and I told you that I would get it for you one day?”

The wife choked up and started to cry and said “Yes, I do remember that shop.”

He replied: “Well, I’m in the pub next door!”
