The Dance Hall 50/50 draw was held Boxing Day at Devlin’s General Store. The fortunate winner was Bev McCoy taking home $8840.00. Joanne Hyatt drew the winning ticket.
Congratulations to Bev, I’m sure the winnings will come on useful and what a great way to start out the New Year!

The committee of Joeann and Rhonda Hyatt, Sally Dick, Lisa Hammond and Keith Munroe would like to thanks all the businesses that were willing to have crickets sold at their establishments and a special thanks to Sadie Smith who sold many, many tickets for this cause.
Joeann shared with me that the outside of the building and parking lot are finished. The renovations still needing to be completed are the kitchen and flooring. Sadly with the prices of material raising and waiting for materials has put a hold on renovations. The foundation of building was a big expense and consumed more monies than was first thought.
The committee, carpenters and volunteers continue to see this project through. We wish them all the best in their endeavours.
The winner of the Devlin’s General Store December’s gas draw was Rachel McLean, she wins $50. Because to enter the monthly draw every time you purchase $40 in gasoline or more.
The Emo Legion held its 50/50 draw December 17. The lucky winner was Christina Keller – she won $1575.
There will be a George Elliot’s Country Jam on January 13th. this will follow a Beer and Burger night. Come out and enjoy an evening of good food and dancing plus good old time music.
Sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Dorleen Godbout.
Dorleen and her late husband Gaston raised their large family in the Burriss area. Dorleen was very strong in her faith, she was an excellent homemaker. I fondly have memories of Dorleen teaching 4-H. always a warm inviting home to spend time in. Dorleen was probably one of the biggest cheer leaders at the Loggers Competition for many many years. Watching her husband, sons, grandsons and many others. She will be greatly missed by many.
Happy 85th. birthdays to Freeda Carmody. May you continue to enjoy your fulfilled and active life.
