April overflowing with events

April is overflowing with activities, a sure sign that Covid restrictions have been lifted. Organizers, volunteers and participants are ready to have a “post-Covid life.”

The Guthrie United Church will host its Spring Fling Tea and Bake Sale April 2 at the Devlin Hall. Admission is $5 adults, $3 for ages 10-12. Five and under are free. Draws, desserts, Penny table and bake table will be available. Draws begin at 3 p.m.

The Good Friday Walleye Supper, hosted by the Emo Legion Branch 99 takes place April 15. Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 25. The cost is $20 for two fillets and all the trimmings or $10 for one fillet.

If you’re a Branch 99 member you can show your Legion card at the time of purchase to get the two fillet dinner for $18. One meal at that cost per Legion member. Take outs will be available at 4 p.m. by calling the Branch at 482-2250. The walleye dinner will be from 5-6:30 p.m.

A reminder that Spring Fever Days will take place in Emo April 22 and 23.

Emo Beer and Burger takes place this Friday, March 25 at the Emo Legion. The following Beer and Burger date is April 8. The 50/50 draw will take place that evening.

Be sure to purchase your 50/50 ticket. You just may be the lucky winner, while helping the Legion out financially.

The Emo Legion elections take place April 7. It’s hopeful that several Legion members will attend elections.

Rosella Gailbraith had comfortably settled into Rainycrest. Her spirit and her lovely smile are as warm as always.

The Township of LaVallee welcomes Neil MacDonald as Road Supervisor. The Equipment Operator position will be filled soon.

Volunteers are needed to work the Emo Thrift Shop on Saturday mornings from 9-noon.

Beautiful Ukrainian flags are available at from the Fort Frances library. These flags are made possible by the Borderland Pride Association.
