And that’s a wrap

The Emo Fair was a success

Despite Covid restrictions and a fair without a midway, the Emo Fair was enjoyed by many.

There was lots of laughing and socializing from adults and children, which was great to hear and long overdue.

Also, a lot of sweat was definitely happening during the Loggers Contest. When it ended after four hours in the hot sun the Champion Logger was Jason Avail, Safety Logger Vaughan Wilson and Rookie Logger Bob Petkau.

The Queen Crowning was a well attended event as four amazing young ladies competed. The nail biting crowning ended with Aynsley Teeple being crowned the 2021 Queen, Makinnley McCormick was first princess and Leah Begacki second princess. The prestigious Dorothy Bonot award was won by Georgia Romyn and Miss. Congeniality went to Makinnley McCormick.

The Mini Queen was Aspen Anderson and the Mini King title went to Noah Sharp.

I did a story about the history of the Queen Competition in last weeks paper, I incorrectly stated that the Queen competition had taken place for thirty five years when in fact it’s been over forty years. The statistics have been kept for thirty five years. I apologize for my misprint.

Congratulations to all winners and participants in both the Loggers and Queen Competitions.

Hopefully everyone enjoyed the Fair and we’ll see you all next year.

Sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Audrey Forster. She was an amazing kind, sweet soul. Not to mention hard worker and a person that made this world a better place. Our community is thinking of her close friends and family at this sad time.

Also sympathy and concern to the family and many friends of Stu Bruce. A man with a constant smile, twinkle in his eyes and always a “Hello, how you doing.” He will be missed by not only family but his coffee buddies.

Congratulations to Danielle Stimarski and Cole Quesnel on their marriage on August 21. A beautiful outdoor wedding was held, and fortunately I was there!

Robin’s 2 cents

I just got through eating an ice cream bar, and when I looked at the stick, I realized I was holding $37.00 worth of lumber!
