The 32nd-annual Manitou fish fry is coming up this Friday (May 17) at the Kay-Nah-Chi-Wah-Nung Historical Centre just west of Barwick.

Peggy Gustafson of KBHW Radio in International Falls said they had a successful mini-Sharathon and that gifts continue to come in.

The total amount to date is now $27,038, Gustafson said, which brings the year-to-date faith promise total to $190,888. KBHW thanks their faithful family of listeners who have responded to the fundraising call.

Letters from listeners also keep pouring in, which is an encouragement to the station staff.

KBHW staff also urge listeners to join them for “Open Line” each weekday at 8 p.m.

“I believe it is the two-way communication that makes KBHW different from the many sources of Christian media we have available to us today,” noted station manager Bruce Christopherson.

In a phone conversation with my grandson, Kyle Guba, in Sudbury, another go-kart racing season is underway and he had a grand day, winning the first and second heat as well as the feature.

Kyle also will be racing at Barrie in June.

The track at Sudbury is asphalt, as are most tracks in the area.
