Good to visit this end of riding

It was great to be back in the western portion of our riding engaging with constituents in the community.
I started my trip by dropping in for coffee with a local coffee club. It’s always a pleasure to sit down and catch up with community members in a relaxed setting.
I also had the opportunity to celebrate the Township of Alberton’s 125th birthday! We were treated to a delicious pancake breakfast, music, and various displays of local talent.
It was a beautiful day to celebrate Alberton and I would like to thank everyone for including me in the festivities!
Next, we boated across to the Mitaanjigaming pow-wow. I had an amazing time and am so thankful to Chief Janice Henderson and the community for their hospitality.
I was honoured to receive a ribbon shirt and participate in the Grand Entry. Miigwetch!

During June, a very exciting announcement about the new Canada Child Benefit was made.
The new CCB will give families more help with the high cost of raising their kids—and puts more money into the pockets of those who need it.
The CCB is expected to lift almost 300,000 children out of poverty.
I’m very enthusiastic about the positive impacts this benefit will have on families in Thunder Bay-Rainy River, and right across the country.

Finally, as we come into the summer, I want to congratulate all the recent graduates of Fort Frances High School and Confederation College.
Best of luck to you all as you begin this new chapter of your lives!
Thank you to everyone whom I had a chance to meet with this month in the western region. Now that the House of Commons has adjourned for the summer months, I am looking forward to being back in the riding and meeting with even more constituents.
You can get in touch by calling our constituency office at 1-807-861-0425 or by visiting our local office at 608 Scott St. in Fort Frances.
