I once again find myself feeling stressed because I am not ready for Christmas! I don’t even have my house decorated or tree up yet! This week it will happen but not sure when! I did manage to finish my outside lights despite the cold temperatures and my fingers freezing! I don’t have all my gifts purchased either but that is mostly normal for me. I really want to get my cows vaccinated and dewormed but it wasn’t a top of the list job when it was -30. I am thinking that I will try for Tuesday or Wednesday this week but I have to wait and make sure it isn’t a wet day because the dewormer is topical and will be less effective if the cows back are wet or get wet. I have booked Maddie’s help for the job so I just need the weather to cooperate now. I feel like I am late doing this job but I just looked and I did it on December 17 last year. I think I might have had more Christmas decorating completed last year. I normally try to do some extra cleaning but I didn’t even consider it this year since I was away last week – it will have to be something I tackle in January! I must be getting older because I think I am getting slower.
I had a good few days in Toronto last week and they were dealing with much more wintery weather than us. There was a fair bit of snow in Toronto and they have been getting more since then. Our meetings were excellent and we even did a trivia night to celebrate the season! I wanted to be on the winning team and our team started off strong but it went downhill from there!
Maddy got home a couple days earlier than planned last week so we were all excited to see her! We have to enjoy her company before Christmas as she heads back right after. They were lucky to get tickets to a Junior Game in Minneapolis so that is exciting!
I am determined to get a lot of work done these next couple of days because I have some girlfriends that want to get together later this week for an afternoon visit and catch up! It will be fun and I want to go and not stress because of all the things I need to do at home. I know it will all come together but it sure makes for a busy time and a lot of pressure.
I just want to give a big shout out to the Rainy River Cattlemen’s Association for once again purchasing a cow and processing into burger for the Emo and Rainy River Food-Banks. I am so proud that they are willing to give back to the community like this and I happy that they are making a difference in some people’s lives. We often forget about those that are less fortunate and take for granted having access to food. Feed Ontario often does presentations to the BFO Board and it is staggering how the need for Food Banks continue to increase each year. The donations boxes that are collected at this time of the year are very much needed and appreciated. So thank you to those that make an effort to donate.
