Fort Frances High School presents “Monty Python’s Spamalot” again today through Saturday (May 3-5) at 7:30 p.m. at the Townshend Theatre (doors open at 6:30 p.m.) Tickets, available at Northwoods Gallery & Gift and at the door, cost $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors.

An open house to kick off the annual spring art show at the Fine Line Gallery will be held Saturday, May 5 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. This year’s theme is “Teal.” Drop by 529 Mowat Ave. to see the artwork (much of which will be for sale) and enjoy some refreshments.
A Mother’s Day luncheon and pie/dessert sale will be held Saturday, May 5 from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at McMillan Hall (Knox United Church). Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children aged seven and up, and $2 for kids aged six and under.
A tea and bake sale will be held Saturday, May 5 from 1-3 p.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit (824 Victoria Ave.) Admission is a donation to their outreach projects. All are welcome–and bring a friend!
“Hearing voices that are distressing,” a free three-hour interactive workshop, will be held Monday, May 7 from 9 a.m.-noon and again from 1-4 p.m. at the NCDS office at 304 Scott St. (participants only attend one session and this workshop is not recommended for people who hear voices). “Reflections of Realism: Art by Cher” will run until May 10 in the main floor gallery of the Fort Frances Museum. Enter the draw for one of Cher’s prints.
The annual Ducks Unlimited banquet will be held Friday, May 11 at the Fort Frances Curling Club. Cocktails are at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6:30. Tickets, which cost $50 each or two for $90, are available at the Fort Frances Times office (116 First St. E.)
Tipping fees will be waived at the local landfill–for yard and garden waste only–on Saturday, May 12 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
