The Rainy River Valley “Gold Rush Gala,” a fundraiser for the Rainy River Valley Agricultural Society, will be held Saturday, April 14 at the Emo Arena. Cocktails are at 5:30 p.m., followed by a barbecued beef dinner at 6:30 p.m. There also will be prizes, penny tables, a live auction, and the Great Cake Roulette. The Fort Frances Choraliers will perform the Easter cantata, “Redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb,” on Sunday, April 15 at 3 p.m. at the New Beginnings Fellowship. Knox United Church is hosting a performance by the Winnipeg Male Chorus on Sunday, April 22 at 2 p.m. The repertoire includes movie themes, songs of the sea and land, ballads, rock and roll, songs of faith, and classical numbers. Former Fort Frances resident Jack Cameron is a member of the 40-voice choir celebrating its 60th anniversary. Admission is a free-will offering in support of the Knox Renewal Fund.
