Stock car racing action, featuring the “Candy Man,” goes Saturday, July 13 at the Emo Speedway, with hot laps at 7 p.m. and the first heat at 7:30 (weather permitting). Admission is $12 for adults and $8 for students/seniors, with those nine and under being free.

The annual “Quest for the Best” singing contest, presented by the Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce, will be held Friday, July 19 under the big tent at the Sorting Gap Marina. Doors open at 7 p.m., with the first act taking the stage at 7:30. Tickets cost $15 each and are available at Northwoods Gallery and Gifts, Causeway Insurance, and NCDS, or at the door (if there’s any left).

Vacation Bible School “Pioneer Days” will take place on July 22-26 from 6 6-7:30 p.m. each evening at Victory Baptist Church (across from the Alberton Township office). Free admission. Aimed at Grades 1-6. Learn Bible stories, play games, and have snacks.

A come and go tea and mini-flower show will be held on Saturday, July 27 from 1-3 p.m. at the Fort Frances Public Library to celebrate the Fort Frances Horticultural Society’s 50th anniversary.
“Echoes in the Ice: Finding Franklin’s Ship,” the newest exhibit at the Fort Frances Museum, will run through Sept. 22. Admission fees apply: Adults $8, family $24, seniors/children six-12 $6.
Tea and scones are back every “Market Thursday” from July 4-Aug. 29. Come to the Fort Frances Museum from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. (back elevator entrance will be open), with admission being $5. (Cost doesn’t include admission to exhibit.)
