The annual Business & Community Expo, organized by the Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Tbaytel, will run Friday, April 26 from 4-9 p.m. and again Saturday, April 27 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Fort Frances Curling Club. There also will be a play area and bouncy castle for the kids. Admission is $3, with kids aged 12 and under being free.
The Legion Ladies’ Auxiliary will host its monthly supper–featuring BBQ baby back ribs with all the trimmings–on Friday, April 26 at 5:30 p.m. upstairs at the Legion (doors open at 4:30). The cost is $16/plate and there also will be a 50/50 draw. For take-outs, call 274-3772.
A community tree care workshop, presented by the Fort Frances Museum and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, will be held on Saturday, April 27 at the museum (259 Scott St.). The indoor session will run from 9 a.m.-noon (doors open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by an outdoor session from 1-3:30 p.m. No charge but participants must pre-register as space is limited. The Fort Frances Choraliers will perform their Easter cantata, this year entitled “Hope Alive in Me,” on Saturday, April 27 at 1:30 p.m. at Rainycrest, then on Sunday, April 28 at 3 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in International Falls, and once again on Sunday, May 5 at 3 p.m. at New Beginnings Fellowship here. The concerts will be fundraisers for a new sound system for the group and free-will offerings will be accepted.
The Fort Frances Minor Hockey Association will hold its annual general meeting on Tuesday, April 30 at 6 p.m. in the Ice For Kids conference room. There will be elections for president, secretary, registrar, and six director positions.
The “Highlights Concert” for the Rainy River District Festival of the Performing Arts festival will be held Tuesday, April 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the Townshend Theatre.

The Lions Legacy Golf Tournament, presented by the Fort Frances Lions Club and the Fort Frances Voyageurs Lions Club, will be held on Saturday, June 22 starting at 10 a.m. at the Heron Landing (Couchiching). The cost is $100 each or $400/team, which includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, and supper. Entries limited to the first 36 paid teams, with the registration deadline being June 6.
