Terry Fox Run is seeking volunteers! Help bring back a worthwhile event by checking out the volunteer meeting on September 1, 6 p.m. at the Volunteer Bureau. All are welcome! There will be roles to fit anyone’s interests and time constraints. This year’s run is on September 18.

Municipal Hazardous & Special waste day- Saturday, Sept. 10. 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Public Works yard, 900 Wright Ave. Accepted items include Aerosols, Batteries, oil containers and filters, paint, pesticide, fire extinguishers, flourescents, pharmaceuticals, and other toxic materials. Muskie Football Discount card blitz night- On Sept. 12, starting from 7 p.m. the Fort Frances Highschool Muskies Football team will be blitizing in Fort Frances and Emo to sell their discount cards. Players will be going door to door selling cards for $20. Have your cash ready for when they come to the door! Businesses included this year include McTaggarts, 4 Your Pets, Boston Pizza, Tagg’s Source for Sports and many more.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation- A full slate of events has been scheduled for Sept. 30. A collaboration between local organizations begins with a walk from Sorting Gap Marina to the Residential School Monument at the Nanicost Grounds. The walk will be followed by Elders sharing their healing stories, and the day will end with a powwow.

Rock Painting at the Fort Frances Library. Tuesday evenings from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Bring your own rocks. Limited numbers of rocks will be available.

Tai Chi in the Park will be held rain or shine every Wednesday at 11 a.m., in Lion’s Park. No experience needed – all abilities welcome for this free, drop-in event! In the event of rain, the group will move into the library.

Parents: The Muskie Touchdown Club Needs You!

The Muskie Touchdown Club is a volunteer organization comprised of parents of Muskie Football players. The club raises funds to pay for equipment and travel for the football program.
