The Rainy River Valley Field Naturalists will be hosting a Spring Birding for Beginners field trip, Saturday, May 28 beginning at 8 a.m. Meet at the marina in Fort Frances. The route will cover Point Park, the waterfront, wetlands, and may possibly head to the Emo lagoon. Bring boots! Your host will be Bob Saunders. Suggestions of equipment to bring include binoculars, camera, smart phone and any guide books you wish to bring.
The Friends of the Library are happy to announce the Book Sale is back! Saturday, May 28, 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Books are for sale by donation; cash only. Please bring your own bags. Donations are appreciated! Please drop off the week prior to the sale.

The Fort Frances Ministerial Association is hosting a ‘Remembering Lives Lost to COVID-19’ event at Rainy Lake Square on Friday, June 10th from 12:15pm to 12:45pm. It is open family, friends, and the community who experienced loss during the pandemic. There will be music, scripture, and prayer. (Those who cannot stand for an extended period of time are encouraged to bring a lawn chair.)
Choir! Choir! Choir! will be in town June 11 for a free show at the Rainy Lake Square, through a partnership between Borderland Pride and Tour de Fort. Ukraine fundraisers
Atikokan Stands with Ukraine is a grassroots organization to raise funds and provide housing for several Ukrainian refugee families. They will be collecting monetary donations, as well as clothes, toys, bikes, and household items for the region’s refugees. Monetary donations over $100 are eligible for a tax receipt.
