Christmas Tree disposal will be a drop-off format this year. Darryl’s Custom Landscapes is accepting drop-offs of your real Christmas tree or other brush. They will mulch or dispose of your tree in an eco-friendly manner. Trees should have all decorations removed before disposal. Trees can be dropped at their location at 881 Sixth St. W. On Jan. 15, the Fort Frances Volunteer Fire Brigade will be on location for collection from 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. but Darryl’s will also accept drop-offs at any time. The fire brigade wishes to thank Darryl’s for helping with this service.

The Fort Frances Legion Ladies Auxiliary to Branch 29 are holding a chicken cordon bleu dinner with trimmings on Friday, January 28. Cost is $20 per plate, with a limit of 150 plates available. Volunteer opportunities

The Fort Frances Meals on Wheels is seeking volunteer drivers to deliver meals to seniors. To join in, or get more information, call the Riverside Community Support Services at 274-2244.

The Fort Frances Senior Centre is looking for a few volunteers to work on a casual basis covering for someone when they cannot come in. Please call Cindy at 807-271-2021.

The FORT FRANCES VOLUNTEER BUREAU (FFVB) is accepting applications for membership renewals and new member volunteers. The Rainycrest Tuck Shop is accepting donations. The Tuck Shop is open to residents, family, staff and visitors. We could use large stuffed bears, men’s and ladies’ slippers, socks, hats, personal care items and items for residents to place on their night stands or wall/door décor as well as gift items and knick knacks.
