Stuff a Cruiser will be held across the District on Saturday, December 4. Local first responders will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Walmart, Safeway, The Place, Cloverleaf Grocery and Beaver Mills Market. All items donated will stay with local food banks.

Christmas Hamper applications are being accepted at the Salvation Army. Sponsors and adoptees are also needed for the program. A senior’s Christmas Craft Sale will take place at the Fort Frances Senior Centre, Sunday December 5 from 1-5 p.m. Vendors are all local seniors who love to craft! Covid protocols apply, and proof of vaccination required to attend.

A candlelight service will be held in observance of the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. It will take place at Knox United Church in Fort Frances, at 6 p.m., Monday, December 6. Covid protocols in place. Masks and proof of vaccination required. A light lunch will follow.

Live Christmas music will be performed by a quartet from the Borderland Community Orchestra, Mondays December 6 and 13, starting at 6 p.m. at the Fort Frances Public Library.

The Fort Frances Lakers will be holding a toy drive, December 10 from 6-8 p.m. Drop off your new, unwrapped toy at the Memorial Sportsplex lobby before the game! All donations will go to the UNFC Adopt-a-family program.

A Christmas Hamper Drive will take place December 11 from noon to 4 p.m., at Cloverleaf Grocery in Emo. The drive is being organized by the RedRum Motorcycle Club, Treaty 3 chapter. The Fort Frances Lions Club is bringing back TV Bingo! It will run Thursday nights at 6:30 p.m., on Shaw Cable. Tickets at all the usual places.

The Right Relations Circle meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at the Fort Frances Museum & Cultural Centre at 10 a.m. – EVERYONE WELCOME. This community group is committed to improving settler-Indigenous relations in the Rainy River District (Treaty 3 territory) through education, outreach, sharing, and advocacy on issues of reconciliation, diversity, and inclusion.
