The Fort Frances Chamber Expo is this Friday and Saturday. Local vendors and entertainment will be on hand, along with live, hands-on shows by Science North. Science North shows will be at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday. Tea house and local musicians, all taking place at the Fort Frances Curling Club.

A Yard Sale and Taco in a bag fundraiser will be held at the new United Native Friendship Centre location, at 427 Mowat, Friday, August 27. Yard Sale will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with taco fundraiser running from noon to 2 p.m.. Taco and a drink will be $8 – cash only.

Rev up for a good cause at Fort Frances GM on Monday. The dealership will be hosting a fundraiser from noon to 7 p.m. $10 from every test drive to childhood cancer. Cadance will be selling T-shirts, and Lou’s Sett treats will be on hand!

A warm clothing giveaway is underway. Fort Frances Volunteer Bureau/Family Centre is hosting a children’s fall/winter clothing giveaway. Warm clothing such as long sleeve shirts, pants, long underwear, mitts, hats, jackets and snow pants. Giveaway has begun and will continue through to September 3, 11-3, 7 days a week, at the Volunteer Bureau, located in the old train station, 140 4th Street West in Fort Frances. A farm market will be held Saturday, August 28 at Emo Feeds, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Local produce, pickles, baking and crafts will be available.

An All Around Town Scavenger Hunt is underway until August 30. Pick up your entry form at the Fort Frances Library, then solve the riddles around town! The Fort Frances Curling Club will be holding online registration from September 1-24, with in-person registration September 15 and 16. Keep an eye on the Club’s Facebook page for more details.

Friends of the Museum will be holding their Annual General Meeting on Thursday, September 2, at 6 p.m. at the museum. Open to the public – everyone welcome! New members welcome!
