The FORT FRANCES VOLUNTEER BUREAU (FFVB) is accepting applications for membership renewals and new member volunteers for this upcoming year running April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022. If you are a volunteer or someone interested in volunteering and believe in the positive impact volunteers have on our community, please pick up an application form at the FFVB (open 11:00 am to 3:00 pm daily) or send an email to fortfrancesvb@gmail.com requesting an application form.

The Salvation Army, in partnership with the Kiwanis Club of Fort Frances, are celebrating SPRING BREAK and providing FREE Activity/Nutrition Bags for kids (Ages 5 & up). They will be giving away 75 bags stuffed with crafts, snacks, and lunch items on Friday, April 9 from 11:30 am to 1pm at 351 Scott Street. (Some nutritional items will require heating up.) No registration will be taken – first come first served.

The Income Tax Clinic has returned to the Volunteer Bureau. The clinic is open Mondays noon-4 p.m. and Wednesdays and Fridays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Volunteer Bureau. Have your documents ready. Maximum income to qualify for the clinic is $25,000 for single people, or $35,000 for combined households. The Volunteer Bureau is located in the old train station on Fourth Street West.

The Fort Frances Museum is hosting spring workshops! Registration in underway. To sign up, call 274-7891 Monday to Friday, between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. All classes will take place on Saturdays over Zoom. Available events are:

Acrylic Painting with Cher Pruys, April 10, from 1-4 p.m. Cost is $65.

Card Making with Meredith Crosswell, May 8 from 1-8 p.m. Cost is $25.
